Minerva Academy FC added another feather to their cap by winning the U-15 Youth League Rest of India North Zone title.
Exercising their dominance throughout the league at the Sector 17 Stadium in Chandigarh, Minerva today thrashed Sudeva 10-0 in the last round match and remained unbeaten in the league.
Shubham Sarangi was off the mark right after the first whistle as he put Minerva ahead in the 30th second of the match before he scored his 2nd hat-trick of the league. But it took Minerva another 22 minutes to double the lead through Manvir Singh, who also scored a hat-trick today.
The 3rd goal came in the 28th minute when Shubham headed the ball into the net, after Azharuddin shot was saved by the GK. Two minutes later, the duo combined again, when Shubham headed in a corner taken by Azharuddin to complete his hat-trick.
With Minerva clearly dominating the match with about 75:25 ball possession, Sudeva really never got any scoring opportunity. With nothing to lose anymore, Minervans toyed with the helpless Sudeva boys before Subham added his 4th goal in the 39th minute.
The match went into break with the home side leading 5-0.
On resumption, the script continued as Manvir ruthlessly scored 4 goals in a span of 5 mins to take the scoreline to 9-0 and in the process completing his hat-trick. Towards the end, Harsh added his name to the score-sheet to finish the match 10-0.
Through out the campaign, Minerva Academy FC played 6 matches and scored a whooping 36 goals while conceding none. No other team in the league (In all Zones) have not finished the league round without conceding a goal.
Minerva there by makes it to the Final Round of the U-15 Youth League to be played later in the season.
In the other two matches played today in Chandigarh, Conscient Football beat IYSA 1-0 while Bhaichung Bhutia Football School pumped in 6 goals against Lonestar Kashmir FC.
