Minerva Academy FC U-15 boys continued their wining run in the U-15 Youth League with another win over Lonestar Kashmir FC on Saturday. The match, played at the Sector 17 stadium in Chandigarh, witnessed the home side pumping in 4 goals – 2 in each half – to take their points tally to 10 from 4 matches.
Aware of the healthy rivalry that is brewing up between the two North Indian clubs, both the team started strong and looked to score first. Minervans, having the home advantage, were the first to have a sniff at the goal only to be denied by the Kashmir FC keeper. Both sides there after exchanges few attacking forays but failed to break the deadlock.
It was only in the 36th minute that Amarjeet Mishra rose to the occasion and pumped in the first goal of the match. Two minutes before the half-time whistle, Manipur boy, Jeckson Singh came up with the second goal to go into the break with a two-goal cushion.
On resumption, Minervans continued their killer instinct and scored two quick goals to take the match away from the reach of the Kashmir boys. Govind Bahadur was the first do it in the 48 minute before Amarjeet scored his second four minutes later to take his goal tally to 4 in the league.
In the other matches of the day, IYSA held BBFS 2-2 while Sudeva beat Youngster Academy 1-0.
