Minerva Academy Football Club U-15 boys registered yet another thumping win as they defeated Indian Youth Soccer Association 6-0 in the team’s penultimate match of the U-15 Youth League on Monday.
With series of big victories to look behind, the young Minervans came into the match to continue their dominance in the North Zone Leg of the league being held at the Sector 17 stadium in Chandigarh.
Right from the first whistle, Minervans wanted to stamp their dominance and it took them only twelve minutes to do so when Manvir Singh drew the first blood. Three minutes later, Manvir scored the second goal before Amarjeet Mishra added the third in the 22nd minute.
IYSA couldn’t recover from the early setback as Minerva pilled on more pressure on them. Burying them further into their miseries was Govind Bahadur, when he romped in a thunderous volley in the 40 minute.
The match went into the break with the home side leading 4-0 and virtually having killed the matched already. MAFC started the 2nd half with the same intent and force and within six minutes, Jeckson struck the 5th goal of the match.
There after the team slowed down and were just content with seeing of the much. But Md Azaruddin Shah added his name to the scoresheet in the 75th minute to make it 6-0.
The win took Minerva Academy FC to 13 points from 5 matches as they comfortably stay put at the top of the table.
In the other matches today, Conscient Football struck 5 goals against Youngster Academy of Chandigarh to win the match 5-0. Sudeva and Lonestar Kashmir FC, however played out a 1-1 draw.
